Voices and Hearts of the Grandmothers

INHEAL, EXHEAL, HEAL
INHALE EXHALE BREATHE
FRACTURED WE FLOURISH

Our lives are changing, the world is changing, and we are becoming bolder and stronger. We are Kintsugi Grandmothers.

Fragmented, we will flourish.
Together we RISE,
Together we SHINE.

Life can sometimes be tough, and we all go through moments that make us feel a bit broken, like a favorite mug that gets a crack. There’s a beautiful way to look at these cracks and breaks, like the Japanese art called Kintsugi. Kintsugi is when they fix broken pottery with gold, making it even more beautiful than before.

Being a Kintsugi woman or grandmother means we take our tough times and turn them into something special and strong.

It means we understand that every experience, even the hard ones, helps us grow into wise and loving women. As grandmothers, we share this wisdom with our families, showing them that it’s okay to have tough times and that we can heal and become even more amazing.

Practices to Reclaim Ourselves After Being Broken

  1. Embrace Your Scars: Just like Kintsugi pottery, we should love our scars and tough times because they show how strong we are. They are part of our story and make us unique.

  2. Engage in Creative Activities: Doing fun things like drawing, painting, or playing music can help us feel better. It’s a way to express our feelings and turn our pain into something beautiful.

  3. Engage in Mindfulness and Journaling: Taking a few moments to sit quietly and think about our feelings or writing them down in a journal can help us feel calm and understand our emotions better.

  4. XOXO YOU: Be kind to yourself, just like you would be to a friend. Forgive yourself for mistakes and remember that it’s okay not to be perfect.

  5. Reconnect with Nature: Spending time outside, like going for a walk in the park or gardening, can help us feel peaceful and happy.

  6. Seek Professional Help: Sometimes, talking to a counselor or therapist can help us understand our feelings and find ways to feel better.

  7. Set Boundaries: It’s important to take care of ourselves by saying “no” when we need to and making sure we have time for things that make us happy.

  8. Surround Yourself with Positive Support: Being around family and friends who love and support us can make a big difference. They help us feel strong and understood.

Remember, our journey is about loving all parts of ourselves, even the tough ones. Together, we can shine brightly, just like the golden seams in Kintsugi pottery.

For years, Kintsugi GrandmOTHERS lived in the shadows, her voice unheard and her potential untapped. But like the pottery mended with gold, she embraced her imperfections and transformed them into strengths. Her journey to finding her voice was not easy. She became a beacon of hope, showing that it’s never too late to speak up and make a difference.
